I hail from Taiwan, a small, densely populated island off the coast of China. It's difficult to place my life in nutshell with these few words, but if there's one thing that could define me, it would be curiosity.
I am curious about myself. Being bicultural and raised through an American academic system, I often find myself wondering about my identity. Who am I? What am I doing in this world? There are so many questions that only I can answer for myself.
I am curious about the world around me. What would happen if we learn to travel back in time? How does a mountain goat scale nearly vertical surfaces? What if I fell in a black hole? What would it take to achieve world peace?
I am here to question the universe as a thinker and as an athlete.
I am here to test myself.
As a Maker
I strive to expand my horizons. The maker movement has swept along millions in its wake, and it is an honor to call myself one of the millions. Not only does it bring on exciting challenges and skill sets, it also broadens my scope as a person, connecting me with individuals all around the globe.
As a Swimmer
I strive to become the best I can be. Though restrained to backstroke and freestyle due to a spinal injury, I haven't given up. If anything, it has only pushed me to make up for what I lack physically, and understand the water, understand my body, and swim smart.
As a Student
I strive to grow. School is only as challenging as you make it, and I intend to make the most out of my high school years. Be it in STEM or the arts, I hope to leave Taiwan with a skill set that will enable me to leave my mark on the world.
